UP.FIT and LVMPD Forge the Future: Deploying the Nation’s First Scaled Electric Cybertruck Patrol Vehicle Fleet

On October 28, 2025, UP.FIT, the global leader in engineering and deploying next-generation electric patrol vehicles, announced in partnership with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the deployment of a landmark fleet of 10 customized UP.FIT Tesla Cybertruck patrol vehicles.

This groundbreaking initiative, which represents the nation’s first scaled fleet of fully-integrated patrol Cybertrucks, is a monumental step toward a future of law enforcement that prioritizes officer safety, fiscal responsibility, and environmental stewardship.

The Fully Equipped Next-Generation Patrol Vehicle

The 10 UP.FIT Patrol Cybertruck Tactical Vehicles are not conceptual prototypes; they are fully operational patrol assets engineered for the rigorous demands of 24/7 law enforcement service, spanning the range of urban and rugged terrains.

LVMPD is ushering in the next generation of policing. These vehicles mark a shift to safer, more fiscally responsible vehicles without compromising on vehicle function. These vehicles are fully equipped, faster and more agile than legacy gasoline vehicles, yet at the same time, a net positive for the community’s environment. This particular deployment marks a monumental leap forward for the law enforcement community as a whole and UP.FIT is honored to partner with a visionary department like LVMPD to take the next step in leading this national transition.

The UP.FIT Cybertruck patrol vehicles are equipped with a suite of specialized features to enhance performance, safety, and visibility on duty.

  • Tactical Performance and Durability: The trucks come with upgraded brake and suspension components designed to handle the high speed driving conditions necessary during rapid response and extreme patrol duty conditions. This capability is paired with high-strength, forged aluminum UP.FIT Police Wheels, which are built to withstand demanding load requirements and extreme impact scenarios, maximizing overall uptime and critical resilience in extreme driving conditions.
  • Enhanced Visibility and Lighting: For improved visibility when responding or on scene, the Cybertrucks feature remotely operated fender spotlights that feature programmable one-touch positioning and sweep motion functionality as well as coordinated movement that is controllable from a single joystick in the center console. Additionally, integrated high-power off-road and scene lighting is built seamlessly into the hood and front-bumper.
  • Officer and Cabin Ergonomics: The cabin includes a custom-engineered, low-profile center console that integrates essential controls, but also retains a dedicated wireless phone charging pad for two phones, and two convenient USB-C ports for universal wired-charging convenience.
  • Security and Transport: For secure transport of detainees, the rear seating area is fitted with a rear seat prisoner partition including plastic seat replacement, floor fortification and eliminated internal rear-door controls.

Zero Taxpayer Cost, Maximum Fiscal Return

This crucial pilot fleet was acquired through an exceptional commitment to community support from private donors, resulting in significant savings for taxpayers immediately and in the long term:

  • Zero Taxpayer Cost: The entire pilot fleet of 10 UP.FIT Cybertruck patrol vehicles were acquired through a generous donation to LVMPD, meaning no taxpayer funds were used for the purchase of these assets.
  • Dramatic Operating Savings: The EV architecture avoids the over $2,000 in unavoidable annual maintenance costs associated with oil changes and brakes maintenance that are typical of an ICE patrol vehicle and is projected to save LVMPD approximately $10,000 in annual fuel costs per vehicle because the local rates for the electricity required to operate the vehicle is projected to cost less than $2,000 annually vs. over $12,000 for gasoline to cover the same patrol duty.
  • Extended Service Life: The electric platform eliminates the severe, often overlooked wear caused by engine idling (1 hour of gasoline vehicle idling is approximately equal to 33 miles of driving in terms of engine wear). This, combined with the 8-year, 150,000-mile manufacturer battery and drive unit warranty, ensures a longer, more productive life in fleet service, especially compared to the life cycles of legacy gasoline vehicles in police fleets.

A Positive for Community Health

The deployment of zero-emission patrol fleet vehicles directly benefits the Las Vegas community’s air quality:

  • Eliminating Idle Pollution: The UP.FIT Cybertruck is a net positive for air quality by eliminating unnecessary gasoline vehicle idling, which is otherwise required to continuously power the on-board electronics (MDT, radio, lights, siren).
  • Sustainable Power: By utilizing electricity, which is increasingly generated from renewable energy sources like solar and wind, this deployment contributes to a healthier local air quality environment.
